MediaNews Group Bid for Freedom Newspapers Postponed

A newspaper deal has fallen through because of trouble with raising finance, the result of turmoil in the markets and continuing skepticism about the state of the newspaper industry.

According to unnamed sources cited in a Wall Street Journal report, MediaNews Group has postponed its attempt to acquire Freedom Communications.
