MediaNews Takes Full Ownership of 'Boulder Camera,' 'Colorado Daily'

By: E&P Staff MediaNews Group Inc. took full ownership of Prairie Mountain Publishing Co. after three years of a 50/50 partnership with E.W. Scripps Co. in the group that publishes the Daily Camera and Colorado Daily in Boulder as well as several other Colorado papers, including the Broomfield Enterprise.

In February, when Scripps announced it was closing the Rocky Mountain News in Denver, it also said it would transfer its stake in Prairie Mountain to MediaNews, publisher of The Denver Post and more than 50 other dailies across the nation.

The actual transfer on Thursday was first reported in the Colorado Daily by business writer Alicia Wallace.
