By: Joe Nicholson Farrell Joins From AP Adsend
Jim Farrell, former director of AP Adsend, has been appointed executive vice
president of Seattle-based Mediapassage, a Net-based system for buying
multimarket newspaper advertising.
Farrell, who led efforts to develop The Associated Press' ad-trafficking system,
will work with advertisers and agencies to develop Mediapassage's systems for
trafficking print and broadcast ad materials. Mediapassage, formerly known as
mediapassage.com, has processed more than $750 million in print transactions.
The Newspaper Association of America also has been developing a Net-based
system, known simply as NICC, that may provide Mediapassage with stiff
competition.
Joe Nicholson (jnicholson@editorandpublisher.com) is an associate editor for E&P.
