MediaSpan, Tansa Announce Integration Pact

By: E&P Staff MediaSpan, Ann Arbor, Mich., has announced a reseller partnership agreement between its Media Software business and Norway's Tansa Systems AS, developer of the Tansa Text Proofing System, whereby MediaSpan will integrate Tansa text proofing and hyphenation tools with MediaSpan's editorial solutions.

MediaSpan will promote use of Tansa text proofing as an add-on to the latest versions of both the IQue and Jazbox editorial content-management solutions, to help eliminate spelling, punctuation, and style errors. The solution proofreads whole phrases of content in context, enabling editors to check word choice and writing style along with spelling. Tansa (which has U.S. offices in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.) accomplishes this by checking words in documents against a multi-word dictionary and a set of style rules customized for each organization.

"These solutions will have a positive impact on newsroom efficiency for a broad spectrum of media customers, whether they are a small local newspaper or a large publishing group," MediaSpan CEO F.R. Campagnoni said in a statement.
