Mediaspectrum Puts Ad, Edit Solutions Into Cloud

By: E&P Staff Mediaspectrum Inc. is making its media applications platform available as a hosted service for multi-channel publishing with a predictable monthly fee with no upfront cost and minimal maintenance.

By integrating advertising and editorial content management, the company says it has positioned its platform "to radically change the way future media companies compete and operate."

Taking further advantage of Web services, Mediaspectrum also is offering a free trial of its self-service ad portal.

Calling its cloud computing platform "the world's first pure Java-based architecture" and "only pure Web-services environment to handle both advertising and content management," Mediaspectrum says the platform can consolidate many legacy solutions into one Web-based platform that facilitates new advertising and commerce opportunities.

Available as a service via the Internet, the platform can be quickly accessed and eliminates the time and expense associated with on-site implementations, including new software and servers.

The Mediaspectrum Cloud's software solutions aim to increase the value of content "by linking news and advertising in ways that are increasingly personalized, collaborative, relevant and available on-demand," according to the company.

The hosted service incorporates Ad Sales, AdWatch and ContentWatch. The Ad Sales portal for booking, building and managing advertising allows users to log in and create multi-channel advertising campaigns for print, Web and rich media. Advertisers can access account information, make edits and build ads online without complex tools. AdWatch streamlines internal production processes by allowing personnel to track virtually any type of ad and element. By offering access to create, find, and edit ads and their components via the Web, departments can implement digital workflows to reduce ad-production time, cost and complexity.

On the editorial side, Web-based ContentWatch enables systems consolidation and cost reductions through centralized deployment. With Java Web-services architecture, users can submit all types of content -- stories, photos or video via laptops, smart phones or other devices -- with copyediting possible from almost anywhere.

For a limited time at launch, Mediaspectrum is allowing publishers to go live with Ad Sales at no cost or obligation. Those who participate can continue to access the Ad Sales portal for self-service advertising on a transaction, pay-as-you-go pricing model.
