By: E&P Staff The Metro Users Group will hold its 40th annual conference Feb. 23-27 at the Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa California Hotel.
The main Monday program will focus on efficiency, revenue generation, industry trends and expectations. Specific topics are training for profitability, press upgrades and rebuilds, saving newsprint (beyond 45-gram paper and 48-inch web widths), fingerprinting presses, and Six Sigma process Improvement.
The conference also will include three Sunday-afternoon production-training sessions supported by Goss International, Tuesday round-table break-out sessions, and Wednesday-morning technical seminars.

The Great Lakes/Midstates Newspaper Production Conference will convene Feb. 29 through March 2 at the Hotel Cincinnati Netherland Plaza.
The annual gathering begins Friday at noon with a tour of either the Cincinnati Enquirer plant or the US Ink plant. Running from 8:30 to 5:30, the Saturday conference agenda covers topics in the prepress, press and post-press areas.
