'Miami Herald,' 'El Nuevo Herald' Launch Digital Editions

By: E&P Staff The Miami Herald and its sibling Spanish-language daily El Nuevo Herald have launched subscription digital editions, parent Miami Herald Media Co. announced Friday.

Users can read the day's paper in standard online text mode, or newspaper mode that shows the paper exactly as it is laid out in print. Navigational tools organize sections by topic and allow readers to pull out headlines of interest and then jump directly to articles they wish to read.

An archive database gives viewers the same level of access for issues going back seven days.

Viewers can click on advertisements with URLs, and go directly to the advertiser's Web site.

Miami Herald Media Co. said the Web sites of the two papers reach 360,000 local users, with an additional 1 million out-of-market users.
