Miami Times Celebrates 89 Years Serving Black Community

Sept. 1 marked the 89th anniversary of the Miami Times, the oldest and largest black owned newspaper in the Southeast. Beginning with its founding printer, editor and publisher, Bahamian born H.E.S. (Henry Ethelbert Sigismund) Reeves, continuing through his son Garth C. Reeves Sr., grandson, Garth C. Reeves Jr., granddaughter Rachel J. Reeves and great grandson, Garth Basil Reeves, a new full time employee, the Miami Times is a family business.
