By: Dave Astor Jerry Scott will be replaced by Michael Jantze at the 10th Annual Walt Disney's Hometown Toonfest that's taking place Sept. 19-20 in Marceline, Mo.

A Toonfest spokesperson said Scott -- who co-creates both the "Zits" and "Baby Blues" comics for King Features Syndicate -- "has a medical condition requiring surgery."

Jantze, formerly with King, is known for his "The Norm" strip (now online at GoComics.com) and short-form animation.

As E&P reported June 17, other headliners at next month's Missouri event include Dave Coverly ("Speed Bump"/Creators Syndicate), Jan Eliot ("Stone Soup"/Universal Press Syndicate), and Greg Evans ("Luann"/United Media).

The cartoonists will show and discuss their work, and serve as grand marshals at a parade.

Key sponsor of the event in Disney's boyhood hometown is Kansas City-based Andrews McMeel Universal, parent of Universal Press Syndicate.
