Mike Gugliotto Named CEO of Pioneer-- David Lord Becomes Vice Chairman

By: E&P Staff Mike Gugliotto has been named president and CEO of Pioneer Newspapers, effective Jan. 1. He succeeds David Lord, who will become vice chairman of the Seattle-based company.

Gugliotto is currently the CFO of Pioneer.

"My family and I are so excited that Mike will be leading our company," Susan Scripps Wood, chairman of Pioneer Newspapers, said in a statement. "We have complete confidence in his ability to guide us through these challenging times."

Gugliotto joined Pioneer in 2002. Before that he was the general manager and vice president of the Colorado Daily Times-Call in Longmont.

Lord has been president of Pioneer since 1991.
