By: E&P Staff Britain's GMG Regional Media, publisher of the Manchester Evening News, will implement Workflow, the new media-neutral editorial content-management solution from Miles 33, across all its businesses in the North of England by the end of this summer.

The regional arm of Guardian Media Group ordered Miles 33 Workflow as part of its multi-channel strategy to deliver news for it's 62 Web sites, TV station, Evening News, 16 paid-for weeklies and18 free papers.

GMG Regional Media's cross-functional steering group selected the Miles 33 system for its dynamic user interface, write-once, publish-many capabilities and media-neutral approach to content capture and delivery.

Replacing 10 disparate systems, ranging from different generations of Miles 33 products to a CCI solution at the Manchester Evening News, the new Miles 33 solution "will enable our editorial teams to create and publish content in a variety of ways with varying workflows independently of the origination or final destination of the story," GMG Regional Media CIO Alex Davies said in a statement.

GMG Regional Media is the first major publisher to adopt what Miles 33 CEO Michael Moore called "a system designed to be media neutral from its inception rather than having been evolved from older print-centric legacy products."
