The event will run Friday and Saturday and include a keynote address from Bob Woodward of
The Washington Post.
"There has been a lot of interest in it," said MRE President Jim Wright, an assistant metro editor at the
Seattle Post-Intelligencer overseeing military coverage, adding that at least 100 people have registered to attend.
The conference will include sessions on the looming Iraq conflict, lessons from past war coverage, access issues, and photographer needs in combat.
In related news, the Media Law Resource Center (formerly the Libel Defense Resource Center) will hold a panel discussion on war coverage Wednesday in New York. Ted Koppel of ABC News will moderate the event, set for 8:30 p.m. at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers. Details at
