By: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel editor Marty Kaiser has been named a vice president of Journal Communications Inc., the newspaper's parent company.
Kaiser has been editor and senior vice president of the Journal Sentinel since 1997. He previously served as the managing editor of the Journal Sentinel and one of its predecessors, the Milwaukee Journal.
Journal Communications chief executive Steven J. Smith said Wednesday that Kaiser has made "exceptional contributions" to the newspaper's success.
The Journal Sentinel has won two Pulitzer Prizes in the past three years. But it faces ongoing challenges as the entire newspaper industry wrestles with declining circulations.
Journal Communications owns and operates 13 TV stations and 33 radio stations in 12 states.
