By: E&P Staff The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel launched a redesign of its Web site Friday with features to allow readers to navigate faster and more easily.
With a new server and updated structuring, pages on the site will load more quickly. Tabs and links were switched from the side of each page to the top to be more prominent and accessible. Now, readers can refine article searches by author, date, and related topics.
New features include a weather section, a dining blog, and an opinion blog. Visually, page views will be wider to accommodate larger computer screens.
?With our growing audience looking to us for news around the clock and the technology now available, we created a new design that is even more user friendly and allows our visitors a better, faster and easier experience in getting to the information they want,? said Sharon Prill, senior vice president and general manager of Journal Interactive.
JSOnline?s local audience has grown by 26% in the past three years, with more than 394,900 Milwaukee uniques during a typical month, according to Scarborough Research. The Web site reaches 33% of southeastern Wisconsin?s online population.
