By: Joe Strupp An investigative reporting team at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, which one editor claims has sparked renewal subscriptions to the paper, has earned the Associated Press Managing Editors' second Innovator of the Year Award, APME announced Friday.
The team won a Pulitzer Prize for local reporting this year after it uncovered a county employee pension scandal.

The Journal Sentinel won the award Thursday after a vote by newspaper editors in Las Vegas during APME's annual conference there.
Other finalists for the award were the Las Vegas Sun for Web site innovations that included a history of Las Vegas; and Florida Today of Melbourne, Fla., for a new approach to print and online coordination.
Mark Katches, assistant managing editor for projects and investigations at the Journal Sentinel, says readers have told him they were renewing subscriptions because of its investigative work, APME stated.
