The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's OnWisconsin.com has
joined KnightRidder.com's Real Cities network of city and
regional Web sites. OnWisconsin joins a number of other non-
Knight Ridder properties that are part of the network.
Knight Ridder sells advertising across all the Web sites in the
network. The company said OnWisconsin helps fill out the network
in the Midwest, where Twincities.com, kansas.com, freep.com, and
indy.com are also Real Cities members.
"With the addition of this pivotal site to our network, Real
Cities sees tremendous opportunities for regional content cross-
promotion and advertising sales," said Dan Finnigan, president of
KnightRidder.com, in a statement. "Milwaukee is a popular test
market for traditional retailers, and now they can extend their
products to online testing through OnWisconsin.com."
Pat Stiegman, vice president and editor of Journal Interactive,
the new-media division of Journal Communications, said joining
Real Cities would also extend the reach of OnWisconsin's content.
OnWisconsin is the portal for all of Journal Communications'
properties, including the Journal Sentinel, NBC affiliate
TMJ4-TV, and NewsRadio WTMJ.
Real Cities consists of 41 city sites, including properties owned
by Knight Ridder, Belo, E.W. Scripps Co., and Gannett Co. Inc.
