Minnesota Paper Carrier Helps Unconscious Man

Posted
By: A newspaper carrier for the West Central Tribune was making a delivery in Olivia when she walked to a customer's door and found an unconscious man.

Elizabeth Price said she was delivering a complimentary paper to the house around 6 a.m. Tuesday when she saw the man, lying with his head on the bottom step.

Price pounded on the door but no one answered. Price's mother, who was driving her that day, called 911. Meanwhile, the man came to and told Price to go inside and get his wife.

Price said she makes a point of getting out of her car every day and walking to customers' doorways.

West Central Tribune circulation director Mark Herman said newspaper carriers can be community watchdogs. They are often the only people out in the early morning and the first to notice something unusual.
