Missouri's Shocking College Football Success -- Will It Help J-School?

By: E&P Staff A wacky season of college football upsets has left longshot University of Missouri with a shot at the national title.

The New York Times takes note of this in a front page story today, which states that until now the school's journalism school was "better known" than its football squad.

John A. Walsh, the executive editor of ESPN and a 1968 Missouri journalism graduate, suggests to the Times that the Tigers? season has been nothing more than ?a publicity stunt to help the journalism school to draw attention to its 100th anniversary next fall.?
