By: E&P Staff The Mobile (Ala.) Press-Register recently announced that it would begin hiring staff for its three new publications, reports the Lagniappe local paper.
The Newhouse-owned Press-Register ran a display ad on Aug. 10 that described its new publications as ?a young-adult oriented arts, entertainment and news weekly, a parent and family publication, and a monthly magazine tracking the society events of the community." Readers can look for the trio of publications to appear in the fall.
Lagniappe also reported that the publications would be run through the advertising department of the Press-Register, which has some sources confused as to the intentions of the Press-Register. The Lagniappe noted that often, such alternative publications are used by advertising companies to compete for lucrative rates.
