Monday TV Special Helps Sales of Schulz Biography

Posted
By: E&P Staff It looks like last night's PBS special about Charles M. Schulz has helped sales of David Michaelis' controversial new biography of the late "Peanuts" creator.

During different parts of last week, the Oct. 16-published "Schulz and Peanuts" was ranked in the 80s and 90s in sales on Amazon.com. This morning, the book moved up the list to 53rd.

"Schulz and Peanuts" has been criticized by several Schulz family members for being too negative. But a number of reviewers have praised the biography for its research and writing.

Michaelis was a consultant to last night's TV documentary, which included footage of Schulz, interviews, and more.

"Peanuts" reruns by Schulz (1922-2000) continue to be syndicated by United Media.
