?Montgomery Advertiser? Names New President, Publisher

Samuel Martin has been named president and publisher of the Montgomery (Ala.) Advertiser by parent company Gannett Co.

Martin most recently served as senior vice president/chief advertising officer for the Boston Globe, where he was responsible for the integrated sales of the Globe, Boston.com, The Worcester Telegram & Gazette, Globe Direct and Metro Boston. Prior to joining the Globe, Martin was senior vice president/sales for the New Jersey Media Group.

Martin succeeds Cheryl Lindus, who is joining The Star Press in Muncie, Ind., as general manager. Lindus has led the Advertiser since 2008, and before that was advertising director for Gannett's News-Leader in Springfield, Mo., and The Herald-Dispatch in Huntington, WVa.
