'Montgomery (Ala.) Advertiser' Names New Publisher

By: E&P Staff Gannett has named Cheryl Lindus to the position of president and publisher of the Montgomery (Ala.) Advertiser. She replaces Scott Brown, who resigned.

Lindus was previously the advertising director of the Springfield (Mo.) News-Leader, a position she has held since July 2005. She also served as advertising director of the Huntington (W.Va.) Herald-Dispatch and The Star Press in Muncie, Ind.

"Cheryl has a unique ability to identify and target key audiences and has a deep commitment to community journalism," Bob Dickey, president of Gannett's U.S. Community Publishing, said in a statement. "She is a strong leader, with an understanding of building relationships. I believe she will do an excellent job in this new position."
