'Morning Call' Goes Live with Neasi-Weber Circ System

Posted
By: E&P Staff The Morning Call, Allentown, Pa., has replaced a homegrown circulation-management system with the Discus system developed by Neasi-Weber International, Valencia, Calif. The daily, which brought the system online earlier this month, is the seventh Tribune Co. daily to install Discus.

The Discus client/server system uses a Sun Unix Oracle operating platform to integrate customer service, single copy, the Newspaper in Education program and distribution management.

The Morning Call will use Discus to improve customer service, data-analysis, single-copy sales, and its search for other revenue opportunities, according to NWI President Michael Brier.

"I've had first-hand experience implementing major systems in every area of our business. This was the smoothest transition I have ever seen," Morning Call Circulation Vice President Michael Foux, the paper's former chief information officer, said in a statement.
