Morris Powers Photo Blogging at 'Royal Gazette' of Bermuda

By: E&P Staff In the first offshore use of Spotted software from Morris DigitalWorks, the online division of Morris Communications, Augusta, Ga., The Royal Gazette of Bermuda has added the photo-blogging tool to its Web site.

The 178-year-old paper launched the Web feature, called Spotted on the Rock, during the centennial of the Newport-Bermuda sailboat race.

"The Royal Gazette is a fairly heavy picture-oriented paper and the Spotted section drew over 5,000 views in its first week," Gazette Manager of e-business Jeff Arnst said in a statement.

Interactive Spotted is developed from a "We Spotted" area of a paper's Web site. Users who attend events are encouraged to contribute their own local-interest photos to a gallery in a "You Spotted" area -- either uploading them online or submitting them as e-mail attachments from cell phones or computers.
