Movie Deal for Columnist/'8 Simple Rules' Author W. Bruce Cameron

By: E&P Staff W. Bruce Cameron's "8 Simple Rules for Marrying My Daughter" book might be coming to the big screen.

The Hollywood Reporter, in a story today by Gregg Goldstein, said Cameron is co-writing the movie with "Grrl Genius Guide" author Cathryn Michon. Also involved is 26 Films and "The Devil Wears Prada" producer Wendy Finerman.

Cameron, who writes a humor column distributed by Creators Syndicate, previously saw "8 Simple Rules" turned into a TV series starring the late John Ritter.
