'Mutts' Comic Site Draws Nearly 1,000 'Shelter' Entries

By: E&P Staff MuttsComics.com received nearly 1,000 entries from around the world after asking people for stories and photos about pets they adopted from animal shelters.

Some of the stories and photos will be part of cartoonist Patrick McDonnell's upcoming "Shelter Stores" book. Others might appear in a "Mutts" calendar or on MuttsComics.com.

McDonnell does the "Mutts" comic for nearly 700 newspapers via King Features Syndicate. The "Shelter Stories" book will also include "Shelter Stories" episodes from the King strip.
