By: Editorial Staff The National Association of Black Journal-ists has named an executive from the National League of Cities as its new executive director.
Antoinette Allison Samuel will join NABJ on June 1, just two months before the group's annual convention in Washington, D.C.
Samuel, who has been with the league since 1994, is director of its Center for Education and Information Resources. Prior to that, she was senior policy analyst for the Governor's Office for Children, Youth and Families for the state of Maryland. She succeeds Joanne Lyons Wooten, who left NABJ in March to pursue a business venture in North Carolina. Samuel said she "was impressed with the mission of NABJ" and is pleased to be aligned with a large, visible organization.
