Nader Tweaked In Two Comic Strips

Posted
By: Dave Astor Ralph Nader doesn't get a lot of coverage in news pages, but he was mentioned in at least two syndicated comics today. And both strips didn't seem pleased about Nader being in a presidential race where he might take precious votes from John Kerry.

In Darby Conley's "Get Fuzzy," Satchel Pooch mentions he met a fellow dog named Kerry and takes that as "a sign" that the Democratic candidate might win. Then Rob Wilco says he's thinking about voting for Nader, at which point the usually gentle Satchel shouts "Bad Rob!" and kicks his owner. Meanwhile, Bucky Katt holds Rob down as he advises Satchel to "Work the body!"

Another United Media comic, "Over the Hedge" by Michael Fry and T Lewis, has Verne don a Halloween costume that the turtle says "defies understanding," "shocks the senses," and is "really, really scary." Turns out he's dressed as a Nader voter.
