New Animation for 'Freep' Cartoonist Mike Thompson

By: E&P Staff Mike Thompson of the Detroit Free Press has posted a new six-minute animated political cartoon on his newspaper's Web site.

"It's on the Bush administration's feeble attempts to save America's manufacturing base and manufacturing jobs," Thompson told E&P, who added that the cartoon "combines animation with video and interviews I conducted myself in Washington, D.C."

The cartoon was a solo effort for Thompson -- who did all the animation work, shot all the video, and conducted the interviews unassisted.

Thompson, a 2007 Pulitzer Prize finalist, is syndicated by Copley News Service.
