New Book Focuses on 'How to Make Webcomics'

The 200-page book -- by Brad Guigar, Dave Kellett, Scott Kurtz, and Kris Straub -- offers advice about creating a strip, building a Web site, finding readers, selling merchandise, and more.

"For years, young, creative men and women have dreamed about making a living from their comic strips," said Kurtz. "But their only avenue for success was through the slowly dying medium of newspapers. Now, more and more cartoonists are doing it on their own and self-publishing their comics on the Web."

Among the online comics the authors have created are "Evil Inc." (Guigar), "Sheldon" (Kellett), "PvP" (Kurtz), and "Checkerboard Nightmare" (Straub).
