New Customers and Changes for Getty Images' Low-Res Offer

Posted
By: Dave Astor Getty Images has made some modifications in its September-announced offer of Web-resolution visuals for only $49 per image.

"The product has brought in thousands of new customers, but some photographers were concerned that the rights we were granting were too broad," said Paul Banwell, director of photographer and filmmaker relations for Getty Images.

Among the changes is a reduction in the online-licensing-rights duration from 12 to three months. Also, Getty Images clarified that the Web-resolution visuals cannot be used at too large a size. The $49 price remains the same, Banwell told E&P.

A Getty Images spokeswoman said newspaper Web sites are among the customers that have signed up for the $49 visuals.
