New Denver JOA HQ Wins Design Award

By: E&P Staff The new Denver Newspaper Agency building, housing the joint operating agreement (JOA) partners The Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News, won top honors at the annual "Oscars" of the Colorado construction industry.

The building's prime contractor, Hensel Phelps Construction Co, was named as the winner of the overall design/build project at the 19th annual Awards for Construction Excellence (ACE) ceremony.

A subcontractor on the project, Ludvik Electric Co., won a silver medal for its work.

The awards are presented by Associated General Contractors of Colorado.
