By: E&P Staff Neville Green has been named to the new position of deputy managing editor/metro for the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times.
Green joined the Times in 1981 as a features editor and has served the last 10 years as the top editor in Tampa.
"Green's task is to develop the most compelling metro report while preserving the paper's unprecedented commitment to customized local and county news in its regional editions," Neil Brown, the Times' executive editor, said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Tampa city editor Sue Carlton becomes a Tampa-based columnist. Carlton was hired as one of the original members of the paper's Tampa edition staff in 1988.
