New Editors for 'Newsday,' 'amNew York' Web Sites

By: E&P Staff Diane Goldie has been promoted from editor of NYNewsday.com to AME for Crossmedia.

Goldie was previously National/International editor at the New York Daily News and also has worked at the Rocky Mountain News and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

In her new role, she will continue to oversee editorial for the Web and crossmedia content development efforts, centered on Tribune's TV and radio groups. In addition, she will take on the duties of editorial director at amNewYork and its Web site.

Vera Haller, editor of NYNewsday.com, has been named editor of amNewYork and its Web site.

Haller has been a key player in helping NYNewsday.com snare many awards, including a 2005 Front Page Award from the Newswomen's Club of New York, a national Editor & Publisher award for best overall news site and several New York Press Club awards.

She came to Newsday from CNN, where she was a writer in New York. Vera began her career at the AP bureau in New York and has been a reporter in Italy for Reuters and The Washington Post and a freelancer in South Africa for USA Today, Newsweek, Forbes International, and The International Herald Tribune.
Haller will report to Goldie on editorial matters.
