By: E&P Staff Today we introduce a new feature to run for the next couple of weeks: Getty Images picks its 'Photo of the Day' from the Olympics Games in Beijing.
Here is the first selection -- see below.
The caption -- and "How I Got That Picture" narrative -- follows, from Vladimir Rys.

I have shot fencing a few times but it is one of those events that you only shoot once every four years at the Olympic Games! You don?t hear that much about it ? but when I went to shoot the event on August 13, the venue was full and there must have been around 100 photographers there.
The venue had a spotlight on the field of play which gave a nice effect to the light. When Benjamin Kleibrink won the gold medal, he started celebrating; I had seen where his coach was sitting and I anticipated that he would go over in his coach?s direction, which is exactly what he did! I had therefore positioned myself away from nearly all the other photographers, to try and get a different type of picture, in the hope that Benjamin would move in this direction.
It gave me this clear shot, with him a little out of the direct spotlight.
