By: Last week we introduced a new feature to run for the next couple of weeks: Getty Images picks its 'Photo of the Day' from the Olympic Games in Beijing, and the photographer describes how he or she got it.
The contests are now shifingt from a focus on swimming and gymnastics to track and field. Of course, dozens of other events, including softball, table tennis and basketball, continue, if a bit behind the scenes for now.
Here is today's second Getty selection -- see below.
The caption -- and "How I Got That Picture" narrative -- follows, from Ezra Shaw, showing Usain Bolt of Jamaica winning a gold medal in the men's 100-meter dash, shattering the world record with a time of 9.69 seconds before a sellout crowd at National Stadium. Watch for the next pick, coming on Tuesday.

100 final ? Ezra Shaw/ Getty Images
I wanted to get a different perspective on the 100m final, away from the finish line where so many photographers are positioned.
So I went up to the catwalk which is about 50m above the stadium to see if I could shoot from there. I was directly over the VIP area, so I had to get approval but once there, I was able to lean over and put my camera in between two of the stadium lights and shoot straight down to the track.
It was the first time I had been up there, so I had one chance to get this right! Luckily I had brought a lens that enabled the rings to fit in the shot perfectly and it produced this image.
