New 'Fitz & Jen' Business Podcast Up Now: Starting Reporters Make HOW Much?

By: E&P Staff In the newest installment of E&P's "Fitz & Jen Give You the Business" podcast: It's a tough economy for sure, but a new study reveals that pay for starting reporters is stagnant.

The 23rd annual salary survey from the University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications has found that starting reporting salaries for graduates average $30,000 -- well below the starting wages for college gradates in general.

Editor-at-Large Mark Fitzgerald and Senior Editor Jennifer Saba discuss how newspapers should be investing in their future with competitive wages. Or at the very least on the same level as liberal arts grads, who make $36,000 on average!
