New Flightcheck Workflow From Markzware

By: E&P Staff Markzware, Santa Ana, Calif., released version 3.1 of FlightCheck Workflow (formerly MarkzScout), now with Macintosh OS X support. FlightCheck Workflow is designed to simplify and automate tedious workflow processes while managing thousands of documents and electronic files destined for print.

Through automated task-management, it looks into a native application file to sort, filter, categorize and route each file, based on its elements, to the appropriate prepress path. New features in version 3.1 include Carbon for Mac OS X, Microsoft Office Product Support, faster scripting, and more-extensive PDF checking.

FlightCheck Workflow may be integrated with FlightCheck Professional and FlightCheck Online (formerly MarkzNet), using Markzware's TrueFile Specification (.tfs) to manage job ticket data and supply other information to resource-planning, billing and other data-management solutions.

Markzware also is providing a maintenance release for FlightCheck Professional v5.05. In addition to smoother integration with FlightCheck Workflow 3.1, FlightCheck Professional v5.05 is more compatible with Microsoft Windows XP, detects images in an Adobe Illustrator EPS file and PDF images in a QuarkXPress 6 file, and supports AppleEvent and AppleScript.
