New G.M. for 'Tampa Tribune' Web Site

By: E&P Staff Rusty Coats has been named general manager of TBO.com, Tampa Bay Online, which is the Web site of The Tampa Tribune and WFLA-TV.

He was most recently director of new media for MORI Research and Frank N. Magid Associates, where he consulted with more than 100 media companies worldwide to build online audience and revenue.

Coats has worked in interactive media since 1993, first as a technology reporter covering Silicon Valley for McClatchy News Service and then director of media web sites for The Modesto Bee, The Sacramento Bee, and the Star Tribune in Minneapolis. Before moving online, he was a reporter and columnist at a variety of newspapers from Maine to Miami.
