New NYC political podcast series launched this week

Posted

Political thought-leaders Jamie Rubin of “After Hours with Jamie Rubin: A Vital City Podcast,” Harry Siegel of “FAQ NYC,” (aka ‘the New York-est podcast’) and Ben Max of “Max Politics” are partnering to launch “City Hall Free For All,” the hottest podcast crossover in local politics. The show debuted Sept. 23 with first guest Jumaane Williams, who talked to the pod after he was released from his arrest outside of 26 Federal Plaza.

This eight-part series digs into New York City’s mayoral race with new episodes dropping every Tuesday through the election. (Last episode airs on Nov. 11). Siegel and Max, along with FAQ NYC co-hosts Christina Greer and Katie Honan, dissect the latest campaign news, the biggest issues facing New York City, and what the next mayor can — or should — do about them.

Featuring prominent and powerful political players as guests — including New York State Attorney General Letitia James, former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, former Traffic Commissioner Sam Schwartz (“Gridlock Sam”) and New York City Council Immigration Chair Alexa Avilés — episodes will cover crucial New York city issues including: immigration, housing, transportation and public safety, plus an exploration of how the 2025 mayoral race will impact the future of the Democratic Party.

“City Hall Free For All” offers insightful programming about what’s at stake in an election that even POTUS can’t stop talking about and meddling with. The stakes for this election are unprecedentedly high. It will decide nothing less than the future of New York City and the huge question of what a mayor can and can’t do to shape that in our precarious new world.

Available in the feeds of “FAQ NYC” and “Max Politics,” “City Hall Free For All” is streaming wherever you get your podcasts through Tuesday, Nov. 11.
