By: E&P Staff The Association of American Editorial Cartoonists (AAEC) has elected its new 2006-7 officers.
As previously reported, Rob Rogers of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and United Media moves up from president-elect to president. He succeeds Clay Bennett of The Christian Science Monitor and Christian Science Monitor News Service.
Nick Anderson of the Houston Chronicle and Washington Post Writers Group is the new president-elect, and Ted Rall of Universal Press Syndicate was elected vice president.
Re-elected secretary-treasurer was Cullum Rogers of The Independent Weekly in Durham, N.C.
The three new directors are Rex Babin of The Sacramento Bee and King Features Syndicate, Ben Sargent of The Austin American-Statesman and Universal, and Mike Thompson of the Detroit Free Press and Copley News Service, according to EditorialCartoonists.com, the AAEC's Web site.
