By: E&P Staff Self-syndicated columnist Ray Hanania, who's been doing online TV interviews for about two years, is producing a new show.
It's called "Point to Point: Online Interviews With No Boundaries." Hanania explained that "using a video camera and an audio headset, I can interview anyone anywhere. All the guest needs is their own camera and headset."
The Illinois-based writer said he previously had geographic limits on who could be a guest.
"Right now I'm working with an online host, YallaTunes.com, to produce interviews focused on Middle East topics, but I'm hoping to freelance interviews on assignment for newspapers that might wish to add them to their web sites," Hanania told E&P.
He said YallaTunes.com is an online social network for Lebanese and Middle Easterners founded by Zackary Morad.
A interview sample -- which can be accessed
here -- shows Hanania bantering with Aaron Freeman. The two are members of the Israeli-Palestinian Comedy Troupe, which will start a 10-college tour on Feb. 9. Hanania does stand-up comedy along with his more serious column, which discusses Mideast issues and other topics.
"With the journalism market in a 'recession' like the rest of the economy, you have to be on the cutting edge to stay afloat," said Hanania, who's also co-founder of the 2007-launched Arab Writers Group Syndicate.
