By: E&P Staff The Associated Press' AP Images division has launched a new photo
Web site that allows users to more easily find and download the millions of pictures contained in the wire service's archives.
The new site's key feature is a ramped-up search engine that allows users to save searches and receive custom email alerts when new images correspond with their search parameters. The site also has advanced lightbox technology which allows users to group, edit, and annotate their photo projects directly on the page.
The site is part of AP Images' plan to give users greater access to a wider variety of content for editorial and commercial use.
?The new AP Images site is a powerful distribution platform that gives our customers unparalleled access to the millions of images we offer,? said Ian Cameron, Vice President of AP Images in a statement. ?This is just one of the many steps we are taking to offer image buyers greater access to the world?s best images.?
