By: E&P Staff Bradley Robertson has been appointed president and publisher of The Burlington (Vt.) Free Press. He succeeds James Carey who will become chairman of the paper.
Robertson was most recently vice president of advertising at The Des Moines Register in Iowa. He began his career at Gannett, which owns the Register and the Free Press, in 1994 as a circulation analyst.
He served in various circulation positions within Gannett including at The News Journal in Wilmington, Del. and the Detroit Newspaper Agency.
"Brad is a standout executive who had been a leader in innovation and strategic solutions for Gannett," Sue Clark-Johnson, president of Gannett's newspaper division, said in a statement. "These qualities are increasingly essential to the role of publisher, and Brad is a great example of our next generation of leaders."
