By: (AP) Former Scottsboro Daily Sentinel business manager Faye McBride, who has been publisher of a weekly in Rainsville, has been named publisher of the Scottsboro daily.
McBride succeeds Mike DeLapp, who resigned to return to his home in North Carolina. The Sentinel, owned by Southern Newspapers Inc., announced the change Sunday.
McBride, a native of Jackson County, began her newspaper career at the Sentinel as a graphic designer in 1977. She served in various departments on the Sentinel staff, including business manager, before becoming publisher of the Weekly Post in Rainsville in December 2000.
"I am excited to be home," McBride said. "I am looking forward to working with the Sentinel staff and getting re-acquainted with the community."
