New Publisher Named at 'Palladium-Item'

By: E&P Staff Robert "Bob" Robbins is taking over as president and publisher of the Gannett-owned Palladium-Item in Richmond, Ind. Previously, Robbins was president of Gannett's Newspaper Network of Central Ohio and president and publisher of The Newark Advocate in Ohio.

Robbins started his newspaper career at the Palladium in 1969 as a paper checker eventually serving in the finance department. He has held various publisher and group vice president positions in Mississippi, New Jersey, Washington, and Wisconsin.

"It's always great to promote talented people; in this case, it's a double pleasure to help Bob return to a newspaper and a community he loves and understands," Sue Clark-Johnson, president of Gannett's newspaper division, said in a statement.
