New Report: 10 Suggestions for Turning Declining Ad Revenue Around

By: E&P Staff Kubas Consultants estimates that the current drop in newspaper advertising revenue has as much to do with economic factors as it does with structural problems.

Analyst Ed Strapagiel writes in a new report that at present, the relative decline in newspaper ad revenues is split roughly 50/50 between cyclical and structural issues.

The gap between GDP and retail sales and newspaper advertising revenue is only widening -- something that happened nine years ago, Kubas points out. "The cyclical issues will eventually turnaround, for those who can hang on that long," he writes. "By that time, however, the structural problems will become even worse."
