The New York Times announced that Kinsey Wilson will become editor for innovation and strategy, a new role that reports to the executive editor. Wilson, who has built digital strategies for three major news organizations, most recently served as executive vice president and chief content officer for NPR, a position he held since 2008.
In this new role, Wilson will be in charge of expanding mobile strategy and creating new digital products inspired by Times journalism like the NYT Now and NYT Cooking apps. He will be the newsroom’s main liaison on digital matters to the business side of The Times Company.
