The New York Times has plans to move its headquarters a few
blocks away from its current location in Times Square, The Associated
Press reports.

The newspaper expects to complete a deal with state and city officials
this week. The Times is expected to pay close to $100 million
for the rights to build on the new site. The city is expected to
provide tax breaks.

The new location would permit the company to consolidate operations.
The new 40-story headquarters will be located on Eighth Avenue between
40th and 41st streets.
