New York Times Publisher Arthur Sulzberger Announces Succession Plan

Posted

At a staff meeting Monday morning, New York Times publisher Arthur Ochs Sulzberger, Jr. announced that he has initiated a succession process, and will name a deputy publisher within two years, according to a source.

Sulzberger became publisher in 1992, and was named chairman of The New York Times Co. in 1997.

There are thought to be three internal finalists to succeed Sulzberger, when he eventually steps down: Arthur Gregg Sulzberger, David Perpich, and Sam Dolnick. (POLITICO profiled A.G. Sulzberger in June 2014.)
